Less than three months after Texas Tech swept the Big 12 indoor titles for the first time in program history, the Red Raiders came away with another team sweep on the outdoor stage on Saturday in Lawrence, Kansas.

The Red Raider men won a sixth conference title, second in the last three years, scoring 136 points, and the women secured a first conference title, scoring 127 points.

The men’s team won four events over the three-day meet, including two on the final day by the 4x100 meter relay and DeSean Boyce.

The 4x100 relay team, featuring Aidan McDuffie, Johnathan Crawford, Antoine Andrews and Kimarlie Stewart, held off Houston by less than a tenth of a second, 39.34 to 39.43. Six teams ran under 40 seconds in the final.

Boyce got away from Arizona State’s Mateo Medina and Jayden Davis in the closing seconds of the men’s 400, running 45.42.

The women’s team also won four events, three on the last day, with Temitope Adeshina as the headline performance for the team in the women’s high jump.

The sophomore from Nigeria cleared a meet record and NCAA leading mark of 1.97 meters (6-5.50), taking down Destinee Hooker’s Big 12 mark of 1.95m (6-4.75).

Shelby Frank took home a second title two days after winning the hammer on Thursday to get the scoring going for the Red Raiders, winning the women’s discus with a personal best throw of 62.14m (203-10).

Victoria Golova led a 1-2-3 finish for Texas Tech in the women’s triple jump with a mark of 13.66m (44-9.75), a personal best. Tamiah Washington and Busola Akinduro finished second and third, jumping 13.63m (44-8.75) and 13.59m (44-7), respectively.

Along with Adeshina’s meet record in the high jump, a total of seven meet records fell on the final, including three from the BYU distance contingent.

Meghan Hunter ran the third-fastest women’s 800 time in collegiate history en route to winning the conference title, running 1:58.99 to break the meet record, held by former Oklahoma State standout Gabija Galvydyte in 2:00.42. It’s the first time Hunter has broken two minutes in the 800 in her career.

James Corrigan delivered a second consecutive record-breaking performance two nights after his steeplechase win with a 13:25.46 effort to win the men’s 5,000 race, besting Wesley Kiptoo’s meet record of 13:29.92. Lexy Halladay-Lowry followed with a win in the women’s 5,000 in a meet record 15:14.93, lowering Lisa Koll’s time of 15:22.42, giving BYU the sweep.

Baylor Nathaniel Ezekiel bettered his own one-day old meet record of 47.90 in the men’s 400 hurdles, running 47.89 in the final to win a second consecutive conference title and third overall.

Kansas’ Emmaculate Jemutai held off BYU’s Carlee Hansen and Riley Chamberlain right to the finish tape to win the women’s 1,500 in a record time 4:08.60, a second faster than Juliet Cherubet’s meet record from last year.
